Kaffee und Kuchen after a hard morning and afternoon's walking and sightseeing! For that particular visit I was staying in a friend's flat in Friedrichshain, which meant that I usually made myself have a long walk towards the city centre, or back from it.

These are some of the books about Berlin, its architecture and history, that I have found useful:

Berlin Then and Now by Tony Le Tissier

Faust's Metropolis by Alexandra Richie

Berlin by Giles MacDonogh

Tomorrow Belongs to Me by Peter Millar

Berlin: Open City by Ulrich Eckhardt etc

Berlin -- the War the Wall by Randy Richison

The Ghosts of Berlin by Brian Ladd

Wall Remnants - Wall Traces by Axel Klausmeier and Leo Schmidt

Hidden in Plain Sight by Anthony Tellier

Images of the New Berlin by Guido Brendgens etc

Here are some websites that I have found helpful:

Online German Dictionary (University of Chemnitz)

Berlin.de (English version)

Hidden Places of Berlin
